My intention from the start was to write like a 1970s sci-fi author, in some ways emulating writers such as Johnny Byrne, E.C. Tubb, John Rankine and Brian Ball so that The Armageddon Engine seems like a lost episode that dovetails with everything in the series. “The story is set late in the first season of Space: 1999 and I gave it a mix of the deep, cosmic narratives from Year One with a bit of the action-forward storytelling as seen in Year Two.”
