When Lady Penelope gets a strange new invention in the post, MI5 and International Rescue's evil nemesis The Hood soon comes calling... and now it's up to her ladyship and the stalwart Parker to solve the mystery of the vanishing ray!
Thunderbirds: Brains is Dead written by Scott Goodall, adapted by Chris Dale
International Rescue is rocked by the death of one of their own when Brains is the victim of a seemingly motiveless murder in New York, but before the team have a chance to come to terms with this loss they find themselves facing an all-out attack against Tracy Island. Their oldest enemy is about to make a devastating move against them – and among his new allies is a very familiar face...
Product Format: MP3 or M4B
Which format should I download?
If you are unsure, MP3 is the most widely compatible. Note that audio drama files (m4b format) are only Apple/iTunes compatible. Only select M4B if you are sure you want that format.
General advice
Our mp3 and audio drama downloads are zip files. Once they have successfully downloaded you will need to unzip the contents and import into your audio player. We do not recommend trying to download our zips directly to your iPhone or Android phone unless you are confident that you have the apps required to unzip and move them to your phone's audio player.

I never read any of the original Thunderbirds comic strips, but listening to the audio adaptations of "The Vanishing Ray" and "Brains is Dead" have brought back the wonderful memories of my childhood. FAB casting, FAB sound design and music, perfectly captures the spirit of the TV episodes. And for anyone who has yet to try out Thunderbirds on audio, I absolutely recommend this release as a taster. Or to put it more accurately, the definitive starting point!
Having really enjoyed the full-cast novel adaptations in the Thunderbirds audio series, I was well excited when I first heard that the TV21 comics were being adapted next. This first set in the comic adaptations is really fun to listen to, bringing new life to stories I enjoyed reading as a kid. 'The Vanishing Ray' has some enjoyable moments with the Hood trying to outwit Lady Penelope, but the true highlight is the second episode, 'Brains Is Dead', which really ups the stakes and action-levels. All the cast are really good, and the comic stories were adapted perfectly, with some changes that make the stories feel more authentic to the Thunderbirds TV continuity, such as Lady Penelope being on hand to help during the attack on Tracy island. On the whole, this is a terrific set, which leaves me eager for more audio adventures! FAB!
I can just imagine The Vanishing Ray as an actual episode! The remarks about Lillian's tea biscuits were very funny. And the Hood adds yet another crash to his collection of car incidents. Brains Is Dead is also good, but I prefer the former. I am left with one question, when will International Rescue remember to get Brains some new glasses?
