The third release in the Thunderbirds series. Written by John Theydon under the name John W Jennison and originally published in 1966, this full-cast audio drama was adapted by Ross Arrowsmith, directed by Samuel Clemens and produced by Andrew Clements.
What starts out as a simple rescue mission to save a trapped miner on the moon, soon turns out to be one of International Rescue’s greatest catastrophes. After the Hood takes members of International Rescue hostage during the rescue, a chase across space and an altercation among the asteroids only worsens the situation. With the Hood hijacking Thunderbird Three along with Brains, Lady Penelope and Tin-Tin, it is up to the Tracy brothers to stage a daring rescue in the mountain tops of his hidden lair. But can they rescue Brains before his engineering genius is used for the destructive forces of evil?

Always happy to get another Ander-drama on CD. The cast does a great job, and I imagine the characters I know and love coming to life when I listen.
Brilliant listening!
Didn’t thonk it would be as great as it was excellent production and voice cast. 10 out of 10
Purchased this for my son , he said it was great ,always great service buying from you
As this release continues to prove, gerryanderson.com is the most dangerous web site on the planet. At least to my wallet! Seriously, I can never check in without wanting to purchase something! This dramatization of the novel is an amazing thing to behold for any fan of the series. It really brings the story to life. Words that just sit on the page when you are reading suddenly evoke a vision. The sound effects draw you into the world and make everything seem so real. The dramatic music makes everything more exciting, just like the original show. When I read the book, which is also available in a hardback edition with a lovely colourful dust jacket, I read (in my head) in the character's voices. Or so I thought! The audio cast do a much better job than I could, and again really invoke the feeling of the original show. This is not a staid 'adult' reading of a novel, but everything is amped up. If this were a serous adult story, then I would guess many would say the cast are being over-dramatic in their presentation of the characters, but for a Thunderbirds story it is perfect! Everything turned up to eleven! I also liked that the story involves all the Tracys and their 'extended family'. In summary makes me feel like I am watching the show or a movie and dare I say? Makes me feel like a kid again. Who could have guessed that Thunderbirds still has the capacity, after all these years, to get me excited. Indeed, excited enough to write a review! P.S. I was there for the original broadcasts, but I do not recall the books, so all new for me! Keep 'em coming!
